If you head down to the G.I.D.C. Estate in Vitthal Udyognagar, you’ll find us at C-1/431. We’ve been running Paragon Paints from this spot for quite some time now. The whole area is full of different factories, so there’s always a lot of movement and the sound of trucks loading up. Inside our place, it smells like wet paint and chemicals most of the time. You get used to it after the first ten minutes. We have rows and rows of big drums and smaller cans stacked up against the walls. Mixing the colors is the part that takes the most focus, and we’ve all got splatters on our shoes to prove we’ve been working. It’s not a clean job, that’s for sure. The floor is covered in different colored drips from years of spills. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or big signs. People around here know where we are and what we do. We mostly just talk to our customers over the phone or at the loading dock. Sometimes the mixing machines get a bit loud, so we have to shout over them to be heard. It’s a straightforward operation. We make the paint, we put it in the cans, and we send it out. We usually eat our lunch sitting on some crates in the shade when the sun gets too hot.
