Niralic Electric Controls

Our workshop is at 16, Prakash Estate on Vastral Road. We are in the Amraiwadi area, which is mostly industrial stuff. You can hear the sounds of machines and hammers all day long. We work on electric control panels and switchgear. It’s a lot of wiring and testing. The floor is usually covered in bits of copper wire and plastic clippings. We’ve got a couple of old workbenches that have seen better days. My brother and I run the place with two other guys. We grew up around here and know the estate pretty well. It’s not a place for a suit and tie. We wear our old clothes because they’re going to get dirty anyway. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance and we have to wait to move our stuff. We don't mind much. It gives us a chance to have a smoke or some tea from the corner stall. Amraiwadi is dusty but it’s where the work is. We make things that go into factories and other buildings. We don't talk much about "excellence" or stuff like that. We just make sure the wires are in the right place and the switches click when they should. It’s basic stuff but it needs to be done right. We’ve had some of the same customers for ten years. They just call us on the mobile when they need something new.
