National Food N Spices

National Food N Spices is up on the ninth floor, C/903-A, in the Ganesh Meridian building. It’s right near the Sola Over Bridge, so the sound of traffic on the SG Highway is something we hear all day long. We work with different kinds of food products and spices. The office always has a faint smell of cumin or turmeric because of the samples we keep on the shelves. It’s a big building with a lot of other companies, so the elevators are always full in the mornings. We have a couple of large tables where we sort through the spice samples and check the packaging. It’s not a very fancy setup, but it’s functional for what we need to do. The view from the ninth floor is actually pretty good, especially when it rains. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers and making sure the trucks are on time. Sometimes the highway gets so jammed that our deliveries are late, and we have to stay late to wait for them. The air conditioner is a bit loud, but it keeps the spices from getting ruined by the heat. We don't really have a reception area, just a desk near the door where whoever is closest sits. It’s a busy environment and we’re usually quite tired by the time five o’clock rolls around. The parking lot downstairs is usually quite a mess in the evenings.
