Our unit is at CM-15 in the GIDC area. It’s right near the Telephone Exchange, which is how most people find us. Working with chemicals means we have to be careful about everything. The office is small and usually smells a bit like the warehouse. It’s not a bad smell, just industrial. We handle a lot of paperwork because of all the regulations. Most of my day is spent checking batches and making sure the containers are sealed right. The GIDC is a dusty place with trucks going in and out all day long. We get used to the noise. There’s a small canteen nearby where we grab a bite. The team here is just a few of us. We’ve known each other a long time. It’s a practical job. No one wears a suit here. We’re usually in boots and work clothes. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook with people asking for prices. We do our best to answer everyone. It’s not always easy when we’re short-handed. The weather gets really hot in the summer, and the tin roof doesn’t help much. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day. M. S. Chemicals is a straightforward place. We buy stuff, we sell stuff, and we try to make sure nobody gets the wrong order. It’s honest work in a busy industrial zone. We’ve been here for years and we know the neighbors well.
