You can find us near Gate No. 1 in Sanjay Nagar, right over by the Mangal Murti apartments. Our shop, A-63, is tucked in there with a bunch of other small businesses. We’ve been selling footwear here for a while, mostly catering to the families living in the nearby blocks. It’s a small shop, so things can get a bit cramped when more than three people come in at once. We keep the sandals and shoes on shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes I have to use a little stool to reach the top boxes. Naranpura is a good area, though it gets quite congested in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We spend a lot of time talking to the regulars who just stop by to say hello. It's not the kind of place where you find designer labels, just practical shoes for daily life. The floor is tile and it’s a bit chipped in the corner from moving heavy crates around. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down. Usually, the weekends are our busiest times when parents bring their kids in for school shoes. It’s just a regular local shop where we try to keep enough stock so people don’t have to go all the way to the big mall. It’s steady work and we like being part of the neighborhood.
