You can find our workshop at Plot No. 50/A in Phase III of the G.I.D.C. Estate in Naroda. It is a real industrial setting, so there is always a lot of noise and the smell of metal in the air. Metacast Engineering Works is where we do our metal casting and general engineering tasks. It is definitely the kind of job where you go home with dirty hands every single day. We have various furnaces and machines for melting down metal and pouring it into molds to make parts for other businesses. The floor is usually covered in sand or metal shavings, but that is just how a foundry looks when it is actually being used. We do not have any polished floors or fancy reception areas here. We just want to make sure the parts come out solid and the dimensions are right. Most of the guys on the floor have been doing this for years, so they can tell if a pour is going right just by looking at it. We talk a lot of shop during our breaks and try to figure out the best way to handle the more difficult molds. It is practical work and it can be pretty exhausting when the weather is hot. We do not bother with brochures or anything promotional. We just let the finished metal pieces speak for themselves when people come by.
