Our workshop is located at S-1 in the Municipal Industrial Estate, right across from the Sonariya Blocks in Bapunagar. This part of Ahmedabad is very industrial, so there’s always the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of heavy machines in the air. We’ve been based here for a long time. The space is mostly taken up by our moulding equipment and the various tools we use daily. It’s not the cleanest place, as there’s always a bit of grease or metal shavings on the floor, but that’s just the nature of engineering work. We are a small crew, and we mostly keep to ourselves, focusing on whatever project is currently on the bench. We don’t have a fancy office or a receptionist; if you come by, you’ll probably find one of us with a wrench in hand or checking a mold. We spend our mornings setting up the machines and our afternoons finishing up the parts. Sometimes things don’t go perfectly, and we have to redo a piece, but we just take it as it comes. We eat our tiffins together in the small corner we’ve cleared out for breaks. It’s a simple routine that we’ve followed for years. The industrial estate has its own rhythm, and we’re just one part of it. We value the fact that we can do our work without too many distractions. It’s a tough job sometimes, but it’s what we know. We just keep the machines running.
