Mausam Punjabi Dhol Wala

I am Mausam and I run the Mausam Punjabi Dhol Wala business from my room, number 220, in Hanumanpura. This is over in the Juna Wadaj area of Ahmedabad, right by Ashram Road. If you know Dani Chowk in Sector 3, we are very close to that. This place is where we keep all the dhols and where the boys meet up before we go to a wedding or a function. It's not a fancy office or anything, just a room where we stay and keep our instruments. Juna Wadaj is a crowded place but it’s home for us. We've been playing the dhol for many years now. People around here know the sound when we are practicing. Sometimes the neighbors complain a bit, but mostly they like the music. We travel all over Ahmedabad from this spot. Being near Ashram Road makes it easy to get to the main parts of the city quickly. We don't have a website or anything like that, just people calling us or coming to Hanumanpura to find us. My family has been in this area for a long time. It’s a simple life, just playing music and making sure the drums are tuned right. If you see a group of guys with big drums near Dani Chowk, that’s probably us getting ready for a gig. We just do our work and go home to the room at the end of the night, tired but happy with the noise we made.
