If you are looking for Manoj Joshi Architects, we are over in Makarba, which is a developing part of Ahmedabad. Our office is B - 506 in Titanium Heights on Corporate Road. It’s a tall building and we are right opposite Vodafone House, so it is quite easy to tell people where to go. Being on one of the higher floors gives us a decent view of the road, which is nice when you need a break from looking at blueprints. The office is pretty straightforward. We have desks for drawing and a couple of computers for the more detailed architectural stuff. We aren't really the type to have a fancy reception area; we just want a place where we can get the work done. A typical day involves a lot of sketching and then checking those sketches against the local building rules. It’s a lot of back and forth. We get people coming in who want to build a new bungalow or maybe renovate their office space. We talk to them about what’s possible and what isn't. Corporate Road is always busy, so there is a lot of energy around here. We just try to stay focused on the lines and the measurements. It’s a job that takes a lot of time and attention to detail, but we’ve been doing it here in Makarba for a while now and we like the pace.
