Kavya Creation

Our workshop is inside Sumel Business Park 6 along the Dudheshwar Road here in Ahmedabad. It is a big industrial area and there is always the sound of machinery humming in the background. We have our space set up with all the tools we need for the day. It isn't the most beautiful place to work but it is practical for what we are doing. We spend most of the morning getting things ready and then the rest of the day is just about the production side of things. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend an hour fixing something which can be frustrating. The floors are usually covered in scraps by the end of the shift. We are just a small group of people working together to get the orders finished on time. The business park is quite large so it took us a while to get used to the layout when we first moved in. Now it just feels like home. There is a small tea stall nearby where we go for breaks when we need a breather from the noise. It is just a regular job in a busy part of Ahmedabad. We don't have any big corporate ideas we just want to do the work and go home to our families at night. Every day is pretty much the same but we like the rhythm of it. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the fabric and the thread until the lights go out.
