Mittal Exports

Located in the Krishna Kaniya Complex at Madhupura Chaulk, things get pretty hectic around here. Shahibaug is a busy area, and being in a complex means there is always someone moving boxes in the hallway. We spend most of our time dealing with paperwork and checking shipments. It’s not a quiet job. The noise from the street outside comes right through the windows. We’ve got stacks of files on the desks and samples of what we export sitting on the shelves collecting a bit of dust. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes, and we have to go out and help them navigate. It’s a lot of back and forth with different people all day long. We don’t have those fancy modern offices you see on TV; it’s just a practical space with good fans for the summer heat. Our floor is usually covered with packing tape scraps and bubble wrap. We keep the kettle going for coffee when the mornings are long. Most of us have been working in this circle for years, so we know all the neighbors. It’s a bit of a maze getting to our unit if you don't know the building well. We just focus on getting the orders out on time and making sure the labels are stuck on right. It is honest work and keeps us on our feet from morning until the shutters go down at night. The work keeps us busy.
