M K Garmentsjordan

M K Garmentsjordan is tucked away in 401 Aakar Flats, right behind the SLU College in the Kagdiwad area of Ellisbridge. Being in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, it gets quite hot here during the summer months. We deal with clothes and garments every day, so there are usually piles of fabric or boxes sitting around the rooms. The flat isn't huge but we make it work for our needs. It's a bit of a climb to get up to 401 sometimes when the lift is slow. We spend a lot of time checking orders and making sure the labels are right. Living and working around Paldiahmedabad means we are close to the markets, which is handy. It's not a shiny showroom or anything like that. It is more like a workshop where things actually happen. The noise from the college nearby drifts in through the windows sometimes. We have our hands full most afternoons with packing and sorting through different items. It's just a small team of us here at Aakar Flats. We do not use fancy talk or have big meetings. We just look at what needs to be shipped and get on with it. It gets a bit chaotic when new stock arrives, but we manage to find a place for everything eventually. Someone is always running out to get more supplies or lunch from the street vendors. It's a plain way of doing things but it gets the garments where they need to go.
