Industrial Rubber Moulders

Our shop is at Plot No. 51/1 in the G.I.D.C. Industrial Estate at Odhav. If you are looking for us, we are right behind the new fire station. The smell of hot rubber is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a strong scent, but we don't even notice it anymore. We have several molding machines that run pretty much constantly. It’s a messy job, and your hands are usually covered in black residue by the end of the shift. We make all kinds of rubber parts for different machines. The G.I.D.C. area is always busy with trucks and workers, so there is a lot of energy around. Our space isn't very big, so we have to be smart about where we stack the finished molds. We aren't some high-tech lab. We are a gritty workshop where we use heat and pressure to shape things. Sometimes the molds get stuck, or a machine needs a new belt, and we handle all that ourselves. It’s a small group of us here. We eat our lunch together on the back bench and then get back to the presses. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll likely find us in the back near the ovens. We just focus on getting the rubber right so the parts don't fail later. It is hot work.
