Harshil Chem

We have been at No. 36 in Vanijya Bhawan for a good while now. It is a busy spot right near Kankaria, which means there is always something going on outside our doors. Our office isn't anything fancy, just a room with enough space for our desks and all the stock records we have to keep. You can see Diwan Ballubhai Marg through the windows, and the traffic is pretty much constant from morning until evening. We deal with various chemicals every day, which mostly involves a lot of paperwork and making sure the right barrels get to the right places on time. Sometimes the fans in here aren't quite enough to beat the Ahmedabad summer heat, but we just get on with things. It is mostly just a few of us working here. We do not have a big lobby or a receptionist in a suit. People in the area know us by the sign outside and the fact that we have been around this block for years. Lunch usually happens right at our desks, or we might grab something from the little food stalls downstairs if we have the time. Most of our mornings are spent on the phone with suppliers. Then the afternoons are for sorting out all the logistics for the next day's deliveries. It is simple work, but it keeps us on our toes and the days go by pretty fast. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of paper and stone that you find in these business centers. We like it here because everyone knows everyone else in the hallway.
