Harekrishna Medical & Provision Stores

Harekrishna Medical & Provision Stores is tucked under the Nathalal Bridge at L G Corner in Maninagar. It’s a bit of an unusual spot, being right under the bridge, but it stays a little cooler there during the summer. We are right beside Parimal Hospital, so we get a lot of customers who are coming out from the doctors there. The noise of the cars and bikes passing overhead is something we got used to a long time ago. Inside, the shop is packed with all sorts of things. We have the usual medicine stock, but we also keep a lot of daily provisions because people in the neighborhood find it convenient. The counter is old wood and has been worn smooth over the years. We spend most of our time pulling out drawers to find specific tablets or counting out change for someone buying a bottle of water. Sometimes people stop by just to ask for directions since the bridge area can be a bit confusing for outsiders. We keep a small stool behind the counter, but there’s rarely time to sit down for long. The light inside is a bit dim because of the bridge shadows, but we have enough lamps to see the stock. It’s a busy little place that doesn't close until late at night. We just keep going, day after day, helping whoever walks through the door.
