Shapath 1 is a big building and we are up on the third floor in room 301. S. G. Highway is right outside our window and the noise from the cars never really stops. Being opposite Rajpath Club is handy for giving directions because everyone knows where that is. Gujarat Road & Infrastructure Company Ltd. isn't a small name, but our day-to-day is actually quite simple. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and talking to contractors about different stretches of road. It’s not all exciting work. There is a lot of waiting for approvals and checking on how the asphalt is holding up in the heat. Bodakdev has changed a lot since we first moved in here. More buildings and way more traffic now. We have a small office with enough desks for the core team. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with all the blueprints and files piled up. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm out there, we just want to keep the roads in good shape. The tea man comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a break. It’s a steady pace. We don't have a lot of fancy corporate stuff going on. It’s just us, some computers, and a lot of talk about infrastructure. We stay busy enough. The work is mostly about planning and making sure the maintenance stays on track throughout the year.
