Gray Parikh Architect

If you head down the Danilimada Highway in Ahmedabad, you’ll find us at Shakti Society. Gray Parikh Architect is tucked away in unit 31. The road outside is usually loud with trucks and cars passing by all day long. Inside, things are a bit more focused, though the traffic noise still drifts in. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds just blend into the background while we work on our designs. Our setup is pretty straightforward without any frills. A couple of large tables for drafting and some computers that have seen better days get the job done. Architecture in Ahmedabad is interesting because you have to think about the sun and the dust all the time. We spend many hours trying to figure out how to keep buildings cool without spending a fortune. Sketches are made and then often thrown away when they don’t work out. No fancy brochures or slick sales pitches are used here. Usually, people just find us because they saw a building we did or someone told them to come by Shakti Society. Talking to clients about their needs over a glass of water is how we start every project. It’s a slow process sometimes, getting everything exactly right on paper before any bricks are laid. Taking it one project at a time helps us stay organized in the middle of all the paperwork.
