Good Night Hotel

Our hotel is right at Lal Darwaja, opposite the Sidi Saiyad’s Jali. It’s a famous spot in Ahmedabad, so we get a lot of people asking for directions. We’re also near Electricity House, which makes us easy to find if you know the landmark. Good Night Hotel isn’t a luxury resort; it’s just a building with rooms for travelers who need a bed for the night. The area is 380001, which is the heart of the old city. It means the streets are always packed with Rickshaws and people selling things. We hear the honking and the shouting from early morning until late at night. Inside, we try to keep things a bit quieter. We have a small reception desk where one of us is usually sitting, checking IDs and handing out keys. The stairs are a bit narrow, so carrying heavy luggage up can be a bit of a workout. We don't have an elevator. Most guests are just passing through for work or seeing the sights. We provide clean sheets and a fan. Sometimes the tap in the bathroom leaks a bit, but we tighten it up when we can. It’s a humble place. We don't do much marketing because people usually just walk in from the street. Living and working in Lal Darwaja is hectic, but there’s always something to see. We just focus on getting people their keys and making sure they have a place to sleep.
