Globus

Our shop, Globus, is located inside the Gulmohar Park Mall, taking up space on both the ground and first floors. If you're driving down the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, you’ll see the mall right near the cross road. It’s a big building, and being near the Iskon Temple means the whole area gets really crowded on weekends and holidays. We usually start the day early, before the mall even opens to the public, just to get everything straightened out. There's a lot of walking back and forth between the two floors, which keeps us on our toes. The air conditioning in the mall is usually freezing, so most of us keep a sweater behind the counter even in the middle of summer. We see a lot of different people coming through the doors, some just killing time and others looking for something specific. It’s a lot of folding and re-hanging things after the lunch rush clears out. The Bopal Road side gets a lot of traffic too, so there's never a quiet moment around here. We have a small back room for our breaks, but it’s mostly filled with boxes that we haven't had time to break down yet. It isn't a glamorous life, but we like the energy of the mall. We just try to keep the shelves looking decent and make sure the registers are working like they should. It’s a busy spot to be in.
