G S F C Vadodara

This is the G S F C Vadodara side of things, though the paperwork often mentions the Ahmedabad connection too. I remember starting out here quite a while back, around May of 1984, and the place has its own rhythm. We deal with a lot of stuff related to chemicals and fertilizers which is pretty standard for this part of India. The office doesn't have much on the walls, just some old calendars and charts. It's a lot of coordination and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. Working here means you get used to the heat and the constant hum of the industry around us. We aren't trying to be some big global conglomerate in our daily talk; we just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is just quiet enough to catch up on the logs. Being based in this area, you meet all sorts of people from across the state. It is practical work. We spend a lot of time checking the details because that's what the job requires. It’s not flashy, but it is steady. People know us for being around for a long time. We just keep our heads down and handle the distribution and the numbers. It’s been a long journey since the mid-eighties, and we are still here doing the same core stuff every day. It is just how we do things here in India.
