Dj Sam

Dj Sam is based over in Vastrapur, specifically in the Balaji Apartment building. We’re in block A 5, not too far from the Vastrapur Lake. It’s a nice part of Ahmedabad to be in, especially in the evenings when everyone is out walking by the water. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We spend a lot of time organizing music files, checking speakers, and making sure the wires are all in good shape. It’s mostly just us and a lot of heavy boxes. Being in Lad Society means we are close to a lot of the action, which helps when we have to load up the van for a gig. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of guys who know how to handle the sound equipment. Most of our weekends are spent at parties or weddings, so the office is often empty on Saturdays. We try to keep things organized but sometimes there are cables everywhere. People usually find us through friends or because they saw us playing somewhere. We aren't doing any big marketing campaigns; we just like playing music and making sure the sound is clear enough for people to dance. It’s a lot of late nights and carrying heavy stuff up and down stairs. Vastrapur is a busy spot, so getting the van parked near the apartment can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We’ve been doing this for a while and just enjoy the work. We try to keep the neighbors happy by not testing the speakers too late in the afternoon.
