Dharti Enterprise Shreeji Hardware (Sabarmati)

We are tucked away in Sabarmati, specifically at units 14 and 15 in the Jankinandan building. It’s right across from the Swaraj Bunglows and not too far from the Motera Stadium. You can usually hear the crowds if there’s a big match going on at the stadium. This hardware shop is where we spend most of our daylight hours. There are boxes of tools and bins of nails everywhere you look. We try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves because people in the bunglows nearby are always needing something fixed. It's a bit of a maze inside sometimes. We know most of the people living around here by name now. Sabarmati has a good feel to it, even with all the new construction happening on Gujarat Stadium Road. The shop can get a bit cramped when we get a new shipment in, and we end up tripping over crates until we find a place for them. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving metal parts around, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just rows of shelves and a counter where we talk to customers. We open early because that’s when the workers usually need their supplies. It's a simple life, running the shop and making sure we have what people are looking for. We try to keep the fans going to beat the afternoon heat.
