Capital Hotel

Capital Hotel is tucked away in Khanpur, right behind the Gujarat Samachar building. The exact spot is on the Khanpur Mirzapur Lane. This is a very old part of Ahmedabad where the lanes are quite tight and there's a lot of daily trade happening. Being behind a newspaper office means we see a lot of people coming and going at all hours. Our hotel is a simple place for travelers who need a bed and a bathroom without paying too much. We don't have a grand lobby or a gym. The rooms are basic with standard furniture and fans. Sometimes the sound of the city can be heard through the windows, but that’s just life in Khanpur. We have a small desk where we keep the register. Most of the people who stay with us are here for a quick business trip or just visiting the old city. We make sure the water is running and the rooms are swept out. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks, like a squeaky door or a window that’s a bit stiff. We don't have a big kitchen, but there are plenty of tea stalls and small eateries right outside in the lane. We’ve been here a long time, and the staff knows the neighborhood well. It’s just a plain, decent place to stay if you’re in this part of town.
