Our spot is over in Bavla, sharing space with the folks at Shree Kankeshwari Agro. It is a bit of a drive from the main part of Ahmedabad, but it is where all the action is for this kind of work. The road to Sanand can get pretty busy with all the industrial traffic and big lorries. Out here in Bavla, the air smells like the earth and whatever crops are being processed in the nearby sheds. We have got a corner in the building where we keep our files and a computer that has seen better days. It is a simple setup for a business like ours. Most of the time, we are out in the yard or checking on the inventory that just arrived. Being a Limited Liability Partnership means there are a few of us involved, and we don't always agree on every little thing, but we get the work done in the end. The yard gets quite muddy when it rains, and we have spent many afternoons trying to move stuff so it stays dry under the covers. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation with fancy suits. We just want to handle our agro business without making things too complicated. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to drivers who are lost looking for the entrance. We have a small table where we eat lunch together. It is usually just home-cooked food we bring from our houses. It is a practical way to run things.
