Our place is in the Odhav G.I.D.C. area, specifically C-1 351/1. If you see the big water tank in Odhav, you're pretty close to us. Being in an industrial estate means there is always a lot of activity, trucks coming and going, and the smell of machinery in the air. Avani Packaging is where we spend our days. It’s a functional space designed for moving goods, not for looking pretty. We have a lot of machinery that runs for most of the day, so it can get pretty loud inside. We all wear earplugs and just get on with it. The office part is just a small partitioned area where we keep the computer and the files. It’s usually covered in a thin layer of dust no matter how much we clean it. We’ve been here for a long time and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Our team is like a small family. We eat our lunch together and talk about whatever is going on in our lives. We don't use any fancy management techniques. We just know what needs to be done and we do it. If a machine breaks down, we usually try to fix it ourselves before calling anyone else. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don't have time for big corporate talks; we just focus on getting the work out the door.
