Our small team works from the 4th floor of the Rangolee Association building on Ashram Road. We are right opposite the V S Hospital, which is a big landmark in this part of Ahmedabad. Being on the fourth floor means we are a bit away from all the street noise, though you can still hear the city if the window is open. We spend our time helping students who are trying to go abroad for their studies. This involves a lot of reading and checking through long lists of requirements. We aren’t some big corporation with hundreds of staff. It’s just a few of us in here. We keep the office setup very simple. There’s a small kettle for tea and some shelves full of folders. Ashram Road is always busy, so we see a lot of people stopping by after they finish their work or classes nearby. Sometimes it gets a little crowded in the office when a whole family shows up to talk. We don’t mind that, we just pull up some extra stools. We aren’t about big presentations or fancy talk. We just sit at our desks and work through what needs to be finished. The building is an older one, but it works fine for us. We’ve been here long enough that the local shopkeepers know our faces. It’s a plain way to work, but it suits us and the people we help every day. We usually stay late most evenings.
