Z P Primary Marathi Girls School

Z P Primary Marathi Girls School is located in the village of Khadwai, which is part of the Khandauli area in the Agra district. It’s a bit unusual to have a Marathi medium school in this part of Uttar Pradesh, but that is how it has been for a long time. The school is a simple building out in the village, surrounded by houses and some open fields. It’s a primary school specifically for girls, so it’s a relatively quiet and safe place for them to come and learn. We don’t have much in the way of big facilities. There are a few classrooms with basic mats or benches for the girls to sit on. Because it’s a village school, you often see goats or cows wandering near the boundary, and the air is much fresher than it is in the middle of Agra city. The teachers here speak both Marathi and the local language to help the girls understand their lessons better. Life moves a bit slower in Khadwai, and the school follows that pace. We have the morning assembly under the shade of a tree when the weather is nice. The building itself is quite small and looks like many of the other government structures in the area. We just focus on teaching the girls their basic reading and writing. It’s a humble place that does its part for the local community without making any big fuss about it.
