Vanshal Collection

Vanshal Collection is situated in the heart of Raja Mandi in Agra, right on the Main Bazar street. Unlike the grocery shops nearby, we mostly deal with different kinds of clothes and small household items that people like to pick up. We have a lot of things hanging up on hooks and some neatly folded on the racks that line the walls. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space we have. There’s a mirror on one side that’s a bit dusty, and we have a small stool for people to sit if they are looking at something for a while. Raja Mandi is always full of shoppers, especially during the festival seasons, and the noise of the market is something we hear from morning till night. We have a couple of tube lights that keep the place bright enough to see the colors of the fabrics. The floor is tiled but some of the tiles are a bit loose. We handle everything ourselves, from opening the shutters to sweeping the floor and folding the clothes back up after someone has looked at them. It’s a simple business and we don't use any big advertisements or anything like that. We just stay open and wait for the people who are walking through the market to step inside. It can be quite a long day but the time passes quickly when the bazar is full.
