Designer Collection

Designer Collection is tucked away at Plot No-7 B on Taj Road in Sadar Bazar. We are pretty close to Shilpgram, so we see a lot of people passing through. This shop has been our base for a while. We deal with clothes and different fabrics, mostly stuff that people want for special occasions or just to look a bit nicer. The shop floor is usually covered with bits of thread or fabric scraps because we’re always moving things around. It's not a huge showroom, but we try to fit a variety of styles on the racks. Sadar Bazar is always noisy and crowded, which we’ve gotten used to over the years. We keep the doors open to let some air in, even if the dust comes in too. I spend a lot of time talking to folks about what fits them or what color looks okay. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding shirts and suits. Sometimes we have a backlog of orders and the back room gets really cramped. We don't use fancy sales tactics. If you like a dress, you buy it. If it needs a little tweak, we try to handle that too. It’s a family-run kind of vibe here. We know the tea seller nearby and the other shopkeepers on Taj Road. It’s a busy life but we enjoy the interaction with different people every day. It feels good to see someone walk out with a bag.
