You will find Skand Mata Brick Field out on Fatehabad Road in the Pinahat block. It is a big open space because you need a lot of room for the drying rows. Being in Tehsil Bah, we are a bit of a drive out from the main city, but the road is mostly straight and easy to follow. The work depends entirely on the season and the quality of the soil we get. We spend a lot of time preparing the ground and making sure the molds are clean. It is a dirty job, and your hands never really stay clean for long. We do not do any advertising because everyone around here already knows where the field is. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The trucks come and go depending on who is building what in the nearby villages. It gets very quiet at night, but during the day, there is always the sound of shovels and the tractor moving around the lot. We do not have any big corporate signs or a reception area. If you need something, you just find whoever is near the kiln and ask. That is the way it has always been run.
