We are based at C-134 in the EPIP area of Site C, Sikandra. It’s an export promotion industrial park, so the whole area is filled with different factories and warehouses. Our unit is just one of many, but we’ve made it our own. We focus on fashion items, mostly doing the assembly and finishing touches. The workspace is large and open, with plenty of light coming in from the high windows, which helps when you are trying to see small details on a piece of clothing. It’s not a glamorous job. There’s a lot of standing around and moving boxes from one side of the room to the other. We have a routine that starts early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. The EPIP area is a bit removed from the main part of Agra, so it’s mostly just work and more work out here. We don't have much time for fancy talk or marketing. We just look at the samples and try to get the production run finished by the deadline. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to wait for the mechanic to come out from the city, which can take a while. It’s just part of the daily grind. We keep some simple records and make sure everyone knows what their job is for the day.
