Mangu Mal Rajender Kumar

If you head down to Khari Baoli and find Gali Batashan, you’ll see the Mangumal Building at number 6105. That’s where Mangu Mal Rajender Kumar is located. It’s an old part of the city, and the lanes are narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze getting through. We’ve been in this building for a long time. It has seen better days, for sure, but it’s sturdy and it feels like home to us. The air around here is always full of different smells because of the market, and there’s a lot of shouting and noise from the carts passing by. We don’t have air conditioning in every room, so it gets hot in the summer. We just drink more water and keep going. Most of our days are spent checking inventory and talking to folks who stop in. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, no fancy computers for everything. We write a lot of things down by hand in big ledgers. It might seem slow to some people, but it works for us and we haven't seen a reason to change it yet. We aren’t trying to be the biggest name out there. We just want to do right by the people who come to see us at the shop. It’s dusty and loud, but it’s our corner of the world and we know every floorboard and creak in the stairs.
