We’ve been here at Kanchan Market on Hospital Road for a good while now. It gets pretty busy around here with people heading to the hospital or just passing through the market stalls. We handle a lot of printing and book work under the name Mahendra Publication. The shop isn't fancy or anything, but we keep the machines running and try to get the jobs done when people need them. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot. We spend a lot of time sorting through papers and checking the ink levels. It’s noisy sometimes with the printers going, but we’re used to it. The neighbors know us, and we know most of the people who walk by every morning. We get a lot of students and office folks coming in for different things. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but we just wait it out and get back to work. It’s just how things go in this part of town. We’ve seen the market change over the years, new shops opening and old ones closing down, but we’re still here in the same spot. If you’re walking down Hospital Road, you’ll see our sign. It’s a bit faded from the rain, but it’s there. We do what we can to help people get their stuff printed correctly. There’s always a pile of books or flyers sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up. That’s just life at the shop.
