Maa Vaishno Traders

Our business, Maa Vaishno Traders, is right in the middle of Moh Chudi Mohalla. If you are sending us a letter, the post is Shahganj. This neighborhood has a lot of history and the streets are quite narrow. You can’t really drive a big car through here easily. We have been operating out of this spot for quite a while. It’s a traditional area where everyone knows who lives in which house. The atmosphere is very different from the main city. It’s noisier in a human way, with kids playing and people talking across balconies. Our workspace is part of the old structure here. The ceiling is high and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on Shahganj. We don't spend money on fancy marketing or big billboards. Most people find us through word of mouth or because they’ve lived in Chudi Mohalla their whole lives. My family has been around this area for generations, so it felt natural to set up the trading business here. We deal with all sorts of things throughout the week. Sometimes it’s very busy and we are rushing to get things ready, and other days we sit and have tea with the other traders on the street. It’s a slow and steady way of living. We just try to be honest in our dealings and keep the place running as best as we can without making things too complicated for ourselves.
