Vn Fashionista

Vn Fashionista is situated right near Ramlila Park Jaipur House, which is a nice part of town to be in. When the park is busy, we get a lot of people wandering over to see what we have. Inside, it’s mostly piles of fabric and half-finished dresses hanging on the racks. We have a couple of tailors who work at the back, and the sound of the sewing machines is like background music to us. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about what kind of fit they want or which color looks better in the sunlight. Jaipur House is a good neighborhood, and we have been here long enough to know most of the people who walk by every morning. The shop isn't very large, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a new shipment of cloth arriving. We usually have pins stuck in our cushions and measuring tapes draped around our necks. Sometimes the designs we try don't work out the first time, so we have to rip the seams and start over. It’s not a glamorous job like people think; there’s a lot of cleaning up threads and dealing with stubborn zippers. We keep a small kettle for making tea in the afternoons. It’s a quiet, steady rhythm of measuring, cutting, and stitching that keeps the shop going through every season. We just like making clothes that fit right.
