About Gupta Glass House – Housewares & Supplies in Agra
Our place is right by the Jain Mandir at Agra Gate, taking up shops 3, 4, and 5. It’s a bit of a spread-out spot because glass takes up a lot of room. You can't really stack it easily without worrying about it breaking. We spend most of our mornings moving crates around or cutting pieces to size for whoever walks in. The noise from the street is always there, especially being so close to the gate. It's a busy part of town. We’ve got all kinds of glass, some thick, some thin, and mirrors too. The floor usually has a bit of glass dust on it no matter how much we sweep. Working with glass means you have to be careful all the time. My hands have a few nicks from over the years, but that’s just how it is. We don't do anything fancy with the decor of the shop. It's just shelves, worktables, and heaps of glass sheets leaning against the walls. People come by when they’re fixing up their windows or need a new mirror for the bathroom. We just do the work and try to get things done by the time the sun goes down. Sometimes it gets crowded with trucks delivering new stock. It’s a straightforward business, really. We’ve been at this location for a long time, so most of the local builders know where to find us. It’s just us and the glass.
