About Glass India (Export) – Housewares & Supplies in Agra
We are over at 83, Mirza Ka Nagla (Chhota). Most days we're just busy with glass. It gets pretty dusty here. People stop by to ask about different types of sheets or how we pack things for the export side. We don't have a big fancy office. It’s mostly just the work floor and a small desk where we keep the papers. My brother and I take turns watching the gate. The morning sun hits the glass stacks and it gets bright. Sometimes we lose track of time. It's not a quiet job because glass makes a lot of noise when you move it. We’ve been here for a while now. The neighbors know us as the glass people. We just focus on getting the crates ready. Sometimes the truck driver is late, so we sit on the crates and talk. It’s just how it goes here. There’s always more to pack. We try to keep the floors clear, but it’s hard with all the scraps. Everyone wears heavy gloves. You have to be careful with your hands. We eat lunch together around noon. The tea stall guy comes by twice a day. He knows how much sugar we like. It's a simple life. We just do the work and go home when the sun goes down. Nothing more to it. We keep our tools in a wooden box near the back door.
