Garments Store

If you are walking down MG Road near Bhagat Halwai, you will find our place. It is just called Garments Store. We didn't think too hard about the name when we opened. The location is good because everyone knows the halwai shop, so we are easy to find. MG Road is always packed with people and cars, so there is never a dull moment. We have a lot of different clothes packed into the shop. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when three or four people come in at once. We spend a lot of our time folding things back up after customers look through them. That is just how it is. We aren't trying to be the biggest store on the block. We just want to provide clothes for the people who pass by. The rent is a bit high on this road, but the foot traffic makes it worth it. My uncle helped me set this up years ago. We have a small bench outside where we sit when the shop is empty. We get all kinds of people coming in, from students to older folks. It’s nice to talk to them and hear what’s happening in the city. We keep the doors open all day to let the air in. It’s just a simple shop. Nothing fancy, just us and the clothes we sell every day for the people in our city.
