You can find Shri Gokulesh Exports at Das Building No. 3 in Bilochpura. It’s a busy part of town, so getting here in the morning can be a bit of a challenge with the traffic and the narrow lanes. Our office isn’t much to look at, just a practical space where we can get our tasks done without any distractions. We spend a lot of time on the floor checking the quality of things before they get packed into boxes. It’s a lot of bending and reaching, so it’s fairly physical work. The lighting in the building could be better, but we’ve added a few extra lamps so we can see what we’re doing late in the day. We’ve got a couple of old fans that make a lot of noise, but they keep the air moving during the hotter months. People around here are friendly, and we often chat with the other tenants in the hallway during lunch. We don’t use big words or have meetings about strategy or anything. We just look at the orders and see how we can get them out the door. Sometimes a shipment gets delayed, and we have to spend the whole evening on the phone trying to track it down. It’s not glamorous work, and my desk is usually covered in scrap paper and half-empty water bottles. But we’ve been at this address for a while now, and we’ve figured out a system that works for us. It’s just a regular workplace for regular people, nothing more than that.
