Ansh Fashions

If you walk down 5 B/19 A in Krishna Nagar, you will find us right there in the middle of Shahgunj. Ansh Fashions has been part of this street for a good bit of time now. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the racks and piles of clothes we keep, but we know where everything is. We started out small and just kept adding more stuff as we went along. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy sorting through new stock to worry about that. Most days start with unpacking boxes and making sure the hangers are all straight. It’s a lot of manual work that people don't really see. We don't have any of those fancy computer systems for everything; we still write things down in our register most of the time. The neighborhood is loud, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping, but we like the energy of it. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door, so we have to move the clothes back. It’s just one of those things you deal with when you’ve been in an old building for years. We aren't trying to be like the big malls. We just sell clothes to the locals and try to make sure they find something that fits okay. It is a simple way to make a living, and we enjoy seeing the same customers coming back season after season.
