Santosh Cement Bricks

Down in Kachikanti village, you’ll find our yard at H. No. 1-10. It is called Santosh Cement Bricks, and it’s a fairly straightforward operation we have going on. Most of the time, our hands are covered in gray dust from the cement. We spend the day mixing, molding, and letting things dry out in the sun. It is heavy work, but someone has to do it so people can build their houses and walls. The yard is usually full of stacks of bricks waiting to be loaded. We see a lot of local builders and people from around the mandal who need a few loads for their projects. It gets pretty noisy when the mixer is running, so we have to shout to hear each other. We aren't big on fancy talk or marketing stuff. We just make the bricks and hope the rain stays away long enough for them to set properly. Sometimes the supply of sand or cement is late, and we have to wait around, but usually, we stay busy. The kids from the village sometimes walk past and wave while we’re loading up the trolleys. It’s a honest way to make a living for a family. We’ve been at this spot for a bit, and people know where to find us if they need building materials. It's just us, the gravel, and the hot sun most days of the week out here in the yard.
