Kalawathi Goods Transport operates out of Hno. 1-75 in the village of Thantholi. We are a small outfit that handles the kind of local moving that the big companies don’t usually bother with. Most of the time, it is just us and a few reliable drivers who know every turn and pothole in the roads around here. We don't have a big fleet of shiny new trucks; our vehicles have some dents and the paint is fading, but they get the job done. The work involves a lot of waiting for loads to be ready and then driving through the night to make sure things arrive when they are supposed to. Our office is just a simple room where we keep our logbooks and a pot of tea going. There are no fancy uniforms or corporate policies here. If someone in Thantholi needs to move some farm equipment or a load of supplies, they usually just walk over to our door or give us a call on the mobile. It is a very hands-on way to make a living, and it means we are always out in the sun or under a chassis fixing something. We don’t make big promises, we just tell people when we can be there and then we try our best to show up on time. It is a quiet life in a small village, and we like the practical nature of just moving goods from one place to another.
