Sri Jogulamba Flour Mill

Our mill is over in Undavally, right at house number 6-71. It is a simple place where we spend most of the day surrounded by the sound of the machines grinding away. If you walk by, you can usually hear the hum of the motor from the street. We get people coming in from all around the Manopadu mandal and Alampur area with their bags of grain. It gets quite warm inside when the stones are spinning fast, and there is always a thin layer of white dust over everything, including our clothes. We don't do anything too complicated here. People bring what they harvested, and we turn it into flour for them. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around for it to come back on, which gives us time to sit outside and talk to whoever is waiting. The Mahabubnagar heat can be a bit much in the afternoons, but we just keep going. We have been at this location for some time now, and the building is just a regular house setup with the mill part attached. We spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment and making sure the belts are tight. It is just steady work that keeps us busy from morning till the evening. Most days are the same, just pouring grain and watching the bags fill up one by one, making sure the texture of the flour is right before the customer takes it away.
