If you come down to Plot No. 2709 in Phase-4 of the Gidc, you will find us at Chemistar Intermediates Pvt. Ltd. Most of the time, the place is buzzing with activity. We deal with a lot of powders and liquids that go into other products, so things can get a bit messy if you aren't careful. We have big vats and some laboratory equipment that we use to check everything. It’s not like a high-tech movie lab; it’s a working industrial space with stains on the floor and pipes running along the ceiling. The air usually has a bit of a sharp chemical scent to it, but you get used to it. We spend a lot of our time checking the temperatures and making sure the containers are sealed up tight. The guys wear heavy boots and aprons because safety is just part of the routine. We have a small area for tea breaks where we can get away from the noise of the pumps for a few minutes. Dealing with the heat in the afternoon is the hardest part of the job, especially when the humidity kicks in. We keep the doors open as much as we can. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving drums and weighing out batches. We don't have a lot of time for talking, but everyone knows what they have to do. It’s just how we run things.
