Sulphochem Industries

Our unit, Sulphochem Industries, is located at Plot No. C-1 268/1 in Phase-2 of the GIDC, Vatva. We deal with various chemicals, specifically things involving sulfur, which gives the place a very distinct smell. You get used to it after the first ten minutes, but visitors always notice it right away. The plot is a decent size, but we’ve filled it up with tanks and pipes over the years. It’s a bit of a maze if you don't know your way around. We spend a lot of time checking the valves and making sure everything is flowing correctly. The concrete around the loading dock is a bit cracked from all the heavy trucks over the years, but it still holds up. Inside the office, it’s mostly just shelves full of old binders and a calendar that’s a month behind. We aren't big on formality here. Most of the time, the boss is out on the floor with the rest of the guys. We eat our lunch together in the shade when the sun is at its peak. It’s a practical, hardworking atmosphere without any of the fancy corporate stuff you see in the city. We’ve got our routine down and we stick to it. We just focus on getting the chemicals processed and moved out to the customers without any fuss. It’s a decent living and we’ve been here at 268/1 for a while.
