J. S. R. Steel

J. S. R. Steel is sitting right at 1504 Kali Mandir on the Old Chhachhrauli Road. It’s a pretty easy spot to find because of the temple nearby. We handle a lot of steel here, mostly bars and sheets that get used in construction around this area. The ground is always covered in iron filings and the air has that metallic tang to it. It’s a noisy business, with the sound of metal hitting metal all day long. We aren't a giant corporation with a big fancy office. Most of the time, we’re out in the yard moving things around with the crane or loading up trucks that come in from the main road. The office is just a small room with a desk and some old chairs where we keep the records. It gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter because the shed is mostly open to the elements. That’s just the nature of working with steel at 1504 Kali Mandir. We’ve been on Old Chhachhrauli Road for a long time, and we know most of the drivers who pass through. It’s a simple life, focused on weight and strength. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just make sure the steel is ready when someone needs it for a job. It’s heavy work and it makes you tired, but it’s a living. We’ve been here, and we’ll probably be here tomorrow.
