Chopal Timber Company

Our place, Chopal Timber Company, is situated right across from the Dimple Cineplex on Jagadhari Road. It’s a spot that most locals know because of the theater. The yard is almost always stacked high with various types of timber. We have a small crew of guys who have been handling wood for years. They can tell you the grade of a piece just by looking at the grain. It is a bit of a rough-and-ready setup here. The ground is covered in wood chips and the office is just a tiny room with a desk and some chairs that have seen a lot of use. We spend the day measuring planks and helping load them onto trucks or carts. It is physical work and can get quite tiring when the weather is hot. We don't do much in the way of advertising; mostly, people just know we are here because they pass by the cinema. Sometimes the dust from the yard blows out toward the road, but we try to keep things as tidy as possible. We don't have any corporate titles or big meetings. We just get the orders sorted and make sure the wood is ready when someone needs it. It’s a simple business and we’ve been part of the Jagadhari Road community for a long time. Life here moves at a steady pace, and we just keep the gate open for whoever stops by. We keep a logbook by the door where we scribble down notes.
