If you walk past the Arya Samaj Mandir in Mahendra Nagar, you’ll probably see our shop. It’s number 25. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time now. The morning bells from the temple are how we know it’s time to start the day. Tcs Enterprises is just a small place, really. We have shelves full of stock and a desk that’s seen better days. It’s mostly just us handling the daily bits and pieces that come up. Customers come in with all sorts of questions, and we try to give them a straight answer. It’s not always quiet here. The street gets busy during festivals because of the temple next door. We don’t mind it much. It brings life to the area. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we have to move the boxes around. It’s just one of those things you deal with when you’ve been in the same spot for years. We don’t have a big website or a fancy logo. We just have the name on the board outside. Most of our business comes from people who live nearby or someone who told a friend about us. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. It’s a basic way of living but it suits us fine. We know most of the other shopkeepers on this block by name. It’s a nice little community to be part of.
