Rohit Masala Ghar

We’re located at Plot 134, right on the Main Road in Uttam Nagar. Being so close to the Uttam Nagar Metro Station means there’s always a lot of foot traffic passing by our door. It’s a very busy part of Delhi, and the noise never really stops. We’ve been running this Masala Ghar for quite a while now. The space isn’t huge, but we make use of every inch of it. We have shelves lined with different spices and mixes. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they need something for dinner. We don’t do anything fancy. We just weigh the spices, pack them in bags, and hand them over. Sometimes we have a chat with the regulars about how their families are doing. It’s a local kind of place. The smell of roasted cumin usually drifts out onto the street. We do the grinding ourselves most days. It’s hard work and your clothes always end up smelling like a kitchen at the end of the shift. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the people who walk past and the folks who have been coming to us for years. It’s a simple life and a simple shop. We just keep the lights on and the bins full of whatever people are looking for. It is just our way of making a living in this city.
