We are located at B-37 in the DSIDC Complex in Kirti Nagar. If you know Delhi, you know Kirti Nagar is the heart of the timber and furniture trade. Our place is right in the thick of it. We deal with plywood and boards of all kinds. The warehouse is filled with the smell of fresh wood and some of the glues used in the laminates. It’s a very physical job. We are constantly moving heavy sheets of ply from one stack to another. The floors are often covered in a fine layer of sawdust despite our best efforts to sweep up. We have a small office tucked away behind the main stacks where we handle the billing. It’s usually crowded with samples and catalogs. Customers come in looking for specific thickness or grains, and we spend a lot of time pulling sheets out so they can take a look. We don’t have a showroom with bright lights. It’s just a warehouse where we keep the stock. The noise from the surrounding units is constant, with saws and hammers going all day long. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other traders on the block. We just try to keep a decent inventory and handle the loading and unloading without any accidents. It’s a busy, dusty, and honest way to make a living in the city.
